1 Acceptance of Terms

By installing the TutorHive Chrome Extension, creating an account, or using any part of the TutorHive service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install the extension or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TutorHive.

2 Description of Service

TutorHive is an AI-powered study assistant delivered as a Google Chrome Extension. The Service allows users to:

• Submit academic questions via text highlight, screenshot capture, or direct input
• Receive AI-generated step-by-step explanations and solutions
• Ask follow-up questions via an in-browser sidebar chat interface

The Service is powered by third-party AI models (currently via OpenRouter / Google Gemini) and backed by Supabase infrastructure. We reserve the right to change the underlying AI provider at any time.

3 Account & Authentication

Access to TutorHive requires a Google account. By signing in, you authorise TutorHive to receive your Google profile information (name, email, profile photo) as described in our Privacy Policy.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must not share your account credentials with others
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
• One account per person — duplicate accounts may be removed

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4 Usage Limits & Plans

Free Plan

Free accounts are limited to 5 questions per day. The daily count resets at midnight UTC. This limit is enforced server-side and cannot be bypassed.

Pro Plan

Pro subscribers receive unlimited questions per day. Pro access is granted upon payment of the monthly subscription fee. Access continues until the subscription is cancelled or payment fails.

Fair Use

Even on Pro, you may not use the Service in an automated or programmatic manner (bots, scripts, bulk submission). Accounts found to be abusing the Service will be suspended without refund.

5 Acceptable Use

You agree to use TutorHive only for lawful educational purposes. You must not:

• Submit questions containing illegal, harmful, or abusive content
• Use the Service to generate content intended to harm, deceive, or defraud others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Service's source code or AI prompts
• Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, scripts) to interact with the Service
• Resell, sublicense, or commercialise the Service or its outputs without written permission
• Submit screenshots or content that contains personally identifiable information of third parties without their consent
• Attempt to circumvent daily usage limits or other access controls

6 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

TutorHive uses large language models (LLMs) to generate responses. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated answers may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions
• Responses should not be treated as professional advice (medical, legal, financial, etc.)
• For critical academic work, always verify AI-generated solutions against authoritative sources
• We make no guarantee of the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any generated content

7 Intellectual Property

The TutorHive extension, website, branding, and underlying software are owned by TutorHive and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our software without explicit written permission.

Questions you submit remain your own. AI-generated responses are provided for your personal educational use. You may not republish or commercialise AI-generated responses from TutorHive at scale.

8 Payments & Refunds

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis for unused subscription time — contact us within 7 days of a charge to request a refund
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers

9 Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by signing out and uninstalling the extension. You may also request full account deletion by contacting us.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in abuse of the Service, or if we are required to do so by law.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TutorHive and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11 Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or a notice in the extension.
